Biography
Dieter Pesendorfer graduated in Political Science from Salzburg University in 1997. He completed PhD research in 2001. In 1998 he became Lecturer in Comparative Politics and Politics of the European Union and Research Assistant at Salzburg University. In October 2006 he was appointed to the post of a Senior Lecturer in Regulation at Queen's University.

Dieter Pesendorfer has worked on various research projects funded by the Austrian Chamber of Labour (Bundesarbeitskammer), the Austrian Nationalbank (OeNB), the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT), and the European Commission. His current research focus is on the European chemicals policy reform (REACH), where he is especially interested in the transformation of European governance and the impact of structural power. He has been teaching at Salzburg University, University of Vienna , and University of Kemerovo (Siberia/Russia). His teaching experience includes courses on Eastern European transition processes, EU enlargement, EU policy-making, classical readings in Comparative Politics, political economy and globalization, environmental policy, sustainability, and regulation.
