GCE or VCE A-levels (1)

AAA - LLB Single Hons
AAA - LLB Law with Politics
AAA - LLB Law with French or Hispanic Studies  (2)
This may be reduced by one grade for students who are offering 21 units and who have obtained an A in a fourth subject at AS-level.

Notes:
(1) General Studies is excluded.
(2) An A in A Level French or Spanish is required for Law with French or or Hispanic Studies.

Repeat Candidates

For those students who repeat A Levels (irrespective of whether new A Level(s) are taken or not), the situation is:

Repeat A Level: 

  AAA (for all degrees)
(A in French or Spanish required for Law with French or Hispanic Studies)

Other Candidates

IB Diploma Successful completion of IB diploma with total of 36 points including 6,6,6 at Higher Level

For students who have undertaken Open University Courses, the criteria for an offer will require a minimum of two Open University Credit including at least one Foundation module and the Offer will be a Distinction or a Grade 2 in the Higher Level module.

International students, will be made an offer of ABB at A Level equivalent.- It is not the usual practice to offer a place on any of the above degree programmes to graduates as such students usually study for the Master of Legal Science. However an offer may be made in exceptional circumstances on the basis of an upper second class Honours degree. A postgraduate qualification will not compensate for a lower second.

Vocational Qualifications

BTEC National Diploma: Successful completion of BTEC National Diploma with 16 Distinctions and 2 Merits

Access:

Two-year course: average of 60% in Year 1; in Year 2, successful completion with average of 75% overall
One-year course: successful completion with average of 75% excluding Study Skills

Higher National Diploma:

Year 1 performance: minimum of 2 Distinctions and remainder Merits;  in Year 2: successful completion of BTEC HND with 5 distinctions and remainder Merits

NCEA Cert. or Diploma:
